Sendloop

The WebHooks feature we introduced in February has turned out to be a big hit with developers, and the latest use of it comes from Sendloop, an email marketing service which gives you tons of control over how you manage your communications.

Sendloop has some great instructions for how to set up Shopify to automatically pass on order information to your Sendloop account. This is exactly the kind of thing that WebHooks are perfect for, and we love to see Sendloop taking advantage of them!

This looks pretty cool.

Is there a way to let users choose if they want follow up emails? I wouldn’t want to start sending emails to customers after they place an order unless they have explicitly said that it is ok by them.

Hello Gavin,

Yes, you can do this easily. Shopify sends a data which is “buyer-accepts-marketing” in WebHook data.

Create a custom field in your Sendloop account and then map it with Shopify’s “buyer-accepts-marketing” field in Integration section. Later on, create a “segment” under your subscriber list and filter your Shopify subscribers based on “buyer-accepts-marketing” field. In this way, you can send emails to only opted-in subscribers.

Hope this helps.

Cem,

Excellent feature. Thank you so much for validating our work on Webhook with such a nice integration.

buyer-accepts-marketing is a field which can currently only be set through Google Checkout. The Shopify checkout does not actually ask people to opt-in to this list. We plan to address this in the next few business days.

Hi Tobi,

Thanks for your kind feedback and for clarifying. If you let us know once you add that functionality, we will improve the integration screen and add that field so that Sendloop users can map it with one of their custom fields.

Cheers.
